David Paul Seymour-Artist Extraordinaire

If you are not familiar with the work of David Paul Seymour, then you damn well should be. This one man is responsible for some of the best album cover artwork in the world.

For the past 12 years, the metal community has seen his artwork on t-shirts, album covers, skateboards, beer cans and a shit ton of other stuff. He has more than 300 t-shirt designs and 50 album covers to his credit. The guy is a freakin’ machine!

I am proud to say that I have a few of his album covers in my own personal collection.

As you can see, the man is clearly a remarkable artist. In addition to album covers, David is currently working on a number of projects which include a comic book series and an animated film.

Let’s start with the comic book series. David owns and operates a comic book publishing company called Swordhammer Publishing and has a series currently available for purchase called Kumasan. You can also find various other cool things in the store such as “The Coloring Book of Doom”. I’m all over that shit!

Next up is the “The Planet of Doom” animated full-length feature film. It seems like forever since I kicked in a few bucks for the Kickstarter on this project, but I’m pretty sure based on all the teasers and bands and artists involved, it will be well worth the wait.

Here are a few details on the film. The film is being presented by Riff Lodge Animation and features a variety of segments which include some amazing bands and artists such as Skinner, Pig Hands, Fares Maese, Vokonis, Cirith Ungol, Elephant Tree, Domkraft and many more. David just happens to be the writer and art director of this project as well. Holy hell does this look amazing!

Finally, what we have all been waiting for…the BEER!! David is the exclusive packaging designer for Burial Beer Co. in Asheville, NC. How many David Paul Seymours are there??

Do yourself a solid and check out this man’s work and purchase some swag. If you are in a band hook up with him as he is currently taking commissions for t-shirt and album designs. Home you enjoyed this one. Until next time. Doom on…!!
