TRVE Brewing Co. Death To False Brewing

I heard about this brewery in Denver, CO that is known as the Heavy Metal Brewery. The question is, how can I get my hands on some of these demonic concoctions? Well, low and behold my recommendations for my Beer Drop subscription had a beer from TRVE Brewery in it.

I was elated and since I have a subscription where I can substitute all my beers with others, I figured I’d check to see if there were anymore from TRVE. HELL YES!!! I was able to get six different beers.

Let’s start off by saying that I love the concept of this brewery. The owners took their love of heavy metal and basically just did whatever the hell they wanted to. It is apparent that everyone employed at the brewery needs to be a 100% all in metalhead. Proof in the fact that every member of the staff from bartenders to sales has a year end list of their favorite albums.

For some reason, the thing I was expecting was for every beer to be above the 9% ABV threshold, and to either be a double IPA or a Russian Imperial Stout. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the beers were all on a manageable level in which you could try multiple beers without getting trashed after a few. The beers currently on tap are a nice selection of Sour and Farmhouse Ales along with some Ales and Lagers to satisfy anyone’s tastes. Their Belgian Strong Ale is the highest ABV at 8.0%.

Being a metalhead myself, I have to be honest that many of the bands associated with the beers were unbeknownst to me. Maybe it’s because I’m a bit off of my game or that my age is getting the best of me. Who knows? What I do know is that the beers I was able to score were all incredible.

The first three beers Seven Doors, Cursed and Sin After Sin are fine examples of what this brewery is capable of doing.

Seven Doors

A light and slightly tart Belgian Saison Ale also known as a grisette clocking in at a low 6.0% ABV.

Cursed

Mixed Culture Sour Pale Ale Hopped with Falconer’s Flight Hops with a 5.6% ABV.

Sin After Sin

Mixed Culture Sour Ale with Cinnamon, Tettnang Hops , and Hallertau Blanc Hops. Light, fruity and spicy with a nice sour pucker that delights the taste buds. This one has a low ABV of 5.2%.

As I mentioned earlier, every member of the staff has a year-end favorite album list. Below are a few examples of some of the fine bands that Illustrator Sam and Designers Max and Sean dig. They are the individuals responsible for the killer can art, merchandise and various other art-related stuff pertaining to the brewery. I think the only bands that I have heard of are King Gizzard and Mayhem. I will have to check out a few of the others as well.

On to the next round of beers. Next up we have Deadlights, Ageless Fire and Cosmic Crypt.

Deadlights

An easy drinking and light Hefeweizen that has a low ABV of 4.5%.

Ageless Fire

An East Coast style Hazy India Pale Ale with Citra and Ekuanot Hops ABV 5.7%.

Cosmic Crypt

Dry, tart and mildly hoppy and darkly malty flavor. This beer smells so fantastic! Probably my favorite. 5.6% ABV.

In conclusion, the TRVE Brewery never diverts from their game plan, and that is to incorporate their whole-hearted love for fucking heavy metal with their skillful and precise brewing techniques to deliver the most metal beers to can get your grubby paws around.

Crack open a can, pour into a glass and blast the speakers as loud as you want. Heavy Metal and Beer a match made in HELL!
